About Us

PInLe Base; A Base for Learners
"Let knowledge inflame your heart, not inflate your ego." ~St. Bonaventure (1221 - 1274)
Run by Capuchin students at Jordan University College, Morogoro, we are a small team of passionate brothers drawing inspiration from the intellectual tradition of our Order with a good number of brothers and sisters who were able to put together both Inspiration and Learning and making it their life! Such "lessers" include St. Bonaventure who was a Franciscan primarily, but also a Philosopher and Theologian.
Our ideal is to inspire presentations by encouraging volunteers into intellectual talks through their topics of interest. In the absence of volunteers, we keep the fires by retrieving to our sources of PHILOSOPHY, THEOLOGY, and FRANCISCANISM and even, SCIENCE!
But how did all this begin? The idea came into existence as a result of our regular informal meetings to discuss scholarly topics of our interests mostly on philosophy. This platform is therefore and simply, an extension and formalization of those "interactions."
We welcome learners to join our scheduled presentations and symposia. For those who follow from afar, our USER ACCOUNT section offers shared presentation PAPERS, and our YOUTUBE channel "PInLe Open" provides some of our episode recorded series.
Our SLOGAN is "Bonaventures, Hatua kwa Hatua." Admiring his lesserhood yet being one of the great intellectuals of his time in history, St. Bonaventure inspires us on how to use the fortunate "knowledge" we have received while maintaining some degree of "not knowing" so we can be Bonaventures of our own times, hatua kwa hatua.
Our MISSION and VISION can be interpreted from the Logo that: Grounded in the Franciscan way of life (the brown color all around), Inspiration (the upper dotted curves) carries us forward (the lower dotted curves) through Presentations, Symposia and PAPERS as people both inspired and yet Learners (The L).
